Closet Situation- Part One

by

Disclaimer: This is embarrassing and also a little horrifying. And yes, it is a situation. A serious one.

Today I began a journey. A journey toward a clean, organized closet. And let me tell you, this is a serious task. It required the mood being set with music playing and incense burning; it also required lots of motivation, which I rarely possess. My clothing situation has become a problem so much so that Aaron has even been forced to comment on the state of disorder around here. That's not good. In an attempt to clean the bedroom last week he piled all of my clothing into bins and put them in the corner for '[me] to go through'. Serious. I have been putting this task off for a few days now, but today was the day. Well, it's going to take more than one day. Let me put the pictures above into perspective for you...that is a king-sized bed and the clothing piled on top of it only comprises roughly 1/5 of my total clothing volume. The trouble in assessing my problem is that there are clothes all over the house, not just in the bedroom. AHH. I had no idea this was going to be so difficult. This is going to be a multiple post project, and I am looking forward to the finished product. I have a few friends lined up to take some clothing off of my hands, and the rest will go to Goodwill. Over on kendieveryday there are some great tips on how to create a 'working closet' which is what I'm going for. So I'll be referencing those posts (three parts) over the course of this 'project'. My name is Lindsay, and I am a clothing hoarder. What can I say? I'm working on it.
